Striker Samir Nurkovic has been blown away by the reception he’s received since arriving at Kaizer Chiefs.
The Serbian marksman arrived in the country relatively unknown, but has already made an impact in the colours of his new club.
He was recruited by Chiefs from the Slovakian second division, where he banged in 23 goals in 28 matches.

In front of the Khosi faithful, he has shown glimpses of what he is capable, and has already gotten off the mark, while always on hand to provide assists from out wide.
Speaking ahead of Saturday’s match against Polokwane City, the Serb says he is still getting accustomed to his new surroundings.
“I’m enjoying playing with them and, as everyone knows, we’ve played just four games together and it’s getting better and better,” said Nurkovic.
“We’re used to each other already. Of course, it’s a new environment for me, and I’m coming from another continent, which is hard in the beginning.
“But from game to game, it’s getting better. I’m always an optimist, and I always expect the best thing.”
Plaudits for the Khosi faithful
The start of the new season has seen the fans flock back to the stadium for Kaizer Chiefs matches, whether home or away.
The Khosi faithful have been rewarded with some good performances by the club, who currently summit the log after four matches.
The supporters have made a good enough impression on Nurkovic, who has dubbed them the best in the continent.
“This is the first time I’ve played in front of these wonderful fans and supporters – we have the best supporters in Africa,” he added.
“I’m enjoying every game, and when it’s a question of goals – they will come. I’m just giving my best every game, and I’m doing whatever the coach is asking from me.
“As long as I’m creating the chances for my teammates, and I’m there playing well, then it’s good.”
